The basic settings are the most important settings that define the admin for the server application. These are always obligatory.
The table below the screenshot provides guidance on what to fill in the fields.

| FireStart Server Port (external): | Port of your chosen external server (reverse proxy). If a reverse proxy is used, set the external port. Otherwise, use the internal port. |

| SSL Certificate Thumbprint: | The thumbprint of the SSL certificate used for the data traffic of FireStart. With the “…” button, a list of all valid certificates that are installed on the system is shown. If this field is empty, the wizard to create a self-signed certificate will be started upon closing the configuration wizard (see section “Certificate” for more information). |

Encryption |

Encryption Key |
It is required and will be used to encrypt sensitive data (like passwords to 3rd party systems). Key can be changed, as long as it will be done on the same machine. After restoring a config backup on a different machine, key must be provided again. Also DB backup, being restored on a different machine, needs the same key to be provided to start the server. |
